Description

Parliamentary Diplomacy is an important tool to help Parliaments to contribute to address regional and global challenges. The Regional Fellowship Program on Parliamentary Diplomacy (RFPPD) aims to strengthen the capacity of parliamentary staff to better support their parliaments engage in Parliamentary Diplomacy.

Learning Objectives - Fellows will learn about:

  1. Traditional diplomacy and parliamentary diplomacy
  2. Procedures of parliamentary and inter-parliamentary organizations
  3. Producing speeches, memos, draft resolutions
  4. International law, international relations, geopolitics and major trans-national issues
  5. Strategy and negotiation to help their parliaments work towards regional and international solutions

The training is divided into three stages:

  1. Face-to-Face training at PIC: 4 weeks: 16 March - 10 April 2020
  2. Blended Learning Online Training: 10 weeks: 20 April - 30 June 2020
  3. Simulation Exercise at PIC: 1 week: 6 - 10 July 2020
